NSW: Iemma to reshuffle in bid for 2007 win
SYDNEY, Dec 10 AAP - NSW Premier Morris Iemma is planning to reshuffle of his cabinet.
The reshuffle coincides with the release of a new economic strategy by the government,
The Sun-Herald reports.
Among those ministers who could be given the chop are Gaming and Racing Minister Grant
McBride, Fair Trading Minister Diane Beamer and Small Business Minister David Campbell.
The paper said with 16 months left before voters go to the polls, Mr Iemma would focus
on the portfolios representing western Sydney and the Illawarra, areas where the government
was struggling.
MPs who could be chosen to replace Ms Beamer, who is MP for Mulgoa and Minister for
Western Sydney, are Kristina Keneally, Tanya Gadiel and Angela D'Amore.
Kiama MP Matt Brown could replace Mr Campbell, MP for Keira as well as Minister for
the Illawarra.
Blacktown MP Paul Gibson or Georges River MP Kevin Greene could replace Mr McBride.
The political future of Police Minister Carl Scully was also up in the air, the paper said.
